Keeping warm and well this winter
There are lots of easy, practical steps you can take to save energy and reduce fuel costs:
- Turn off lights and appliances when not being used, and use energy saving bulbs.
- Move furniture away from radiators and tuck curtains behind them, to let warmth in.
- Set heating to come on only when someone is in the house, and set thermostats no higher than 21°C (unless a medical condition necessitates a higher temperature)
- Buy DIY draught-proofing equipment to stop up gaps around windows and doors.
