Statement from our Chair following the death of the Queen
Ceremonial arrangements for the Queen's state funeral
Many of the areas where we operate are likely to be busy over the next few days as people come to London to pay their respects following the death of Her Majesty the Queen.
The Queen’s state funeral service takes place at Westminster Abbey next Monday (September 19) and this has been made a Bank Holiday.
Leading up to Monday the Queen's coffin will be Lying-in-State at Westminster Hall where members of the public will be invited to view the coffin.
Westminster Council has published information on their website about ceremonial events over the next few days leading up to the funeral. It includes the arrangements for the Queen’s Lying-in-State in Westminster and a link to the Royal Family’s national online Book of Condolence.
You can find the mourning guidance and information on their website.
Travelling in London
Central London is expected to be very busy for the next week with many people visiting the Westminster area.
Transport for London is having to adapt public transport availability accordingly, with little or no warning. Roads may also be closed because of the size of crowds.
We advise that you do check your journey plans on the TfL website before leaving home.
